Considerations When Choosing an Engagement Ring
An engagement ring is made up of several important elements, and where you begin the process depends on your priorities. Here’s an overview of what to consider.
The Center Stone
For many, the center stone is the first place to start. While most of our engagement rings feature diamonds as the center stone, we also offer durable and stunning gemstones like sapphires.
The shape of the center stone plays a key role in the overall design. Common shapes include round, oval, cushion, and emerald. Round shapes tend to offer a softer look, while square or angular shapes add a more modern, structured feel. We're happy to source unique shapes if you have something specific in mind.
When selecting a diamond, there are four key factors to consider - color, clarity, cut, and carat weight - often referred to as the 4 C's. Learn more about the 4C's here. Additionally, at NUIT et LINETTE, we have a 5th C: CanadaMark™. We will provide origin reports for diamonds with a carat weight of 0.30 ct and above. This means our diamonds are ethically sourced from the Ekati and Diavik mines in Canada’s Northwest Territories, ensuring they are conflict-free and responsibly mined.

Additional Design Elements
The classic solitaire features a single center stone, but you can also choose a design with side stones or a halo. Other important design considerations include the band, prongs, and choice of precious metal. At NUIT et LINETTE, our engagement rings are crafted in 18K white or yellow gold, or platinum. Bespoke Engagement Rings
If you’re seeking something truly unique or if our existing designs don’t quite match your vision, we offer bespoke services. Linette will collaborate with you to create a 3D sketch of your dream ring, ensuring every detail is to your liking.
Timeline & Budget
We recommend planning ahead for the best experience. Once you approve the design, custom-made or bespoke rings generally take 4-6 weeks to complete. Bespoke creations may take 8-9 weeks, from the initial consultation to the final product.
When it comes to budget, there are no rules. Your budget is entirely up to you, and we’ll work with you to find a ring that fits both your vision and your budget. Our engagement rings start at 11,900 DKK. Knowing your budget from the start will help us guide you toward the best options and make the process smoother.
Ring size
If you're uncertain about your partner’s ring size, don’t worry. We provide a ring size guide to assist if they already wear a ring on their left ring finger, traditionally where engagement rings are worn. Download our ring size guide here. Linette is also available to offer her expert guidance in determining the perfect size. Additionally, we offer free resizing after the proposal, so there's no need to worry if the size isn’t exact initially.
